I had a bad feeling we are going to learn Hastert knew more about the Foley matter than he is saying he knew. As for Foley going for ETOH TX it is a nice place to hide and many of those places have young men as techs..

"Captain's Quarters" Blog has some info on Hastert and it aint pretty.

This will be a perect storm blowing (well, of course I chose that word deliberately) the Republicans out of power just when it is becoming clear Al Qaeda has been decimated and Iraq is turing the corner.

With the donks back in power...forget it

What could Hastert have done? At 16, The men were of legal age and were not working under Foley. Technically, it was all legal. All the targets had to do was block Foleys IM's if they didn't want his advances. Legally, what could Hastert have done? The government can't tell people who they can date and who they can't. I don't see where Hastert could have stopped Foley if Foley wanted to do it.
IF one of the young men worked under Foley and was solicited, he could have brought up harassment charges, but he didn't. So now what? There was no crime other than Foley being a flaming fag (which is demented but unfortunately not illegal).
