I thought the emails and the IM's were sent to 2 different people? I thought the email exchange was initiated by the young man. The emails that have come out ask how he (the former page) was doing (he lived in LA and it was right after Katrina). The IM's were a separate issue, only recently discovered and unknown to congress because they were sent from Foley's home computer. Didn't they talk about the young man being in college? To me this is an important distinction. My husband's quite a bit older than me. I met him when I was in college. Besides, we don't even know WHERE the IM's came from. Frankly, if the IM's are real and they are between Foley and a teenager, then whoever held on to them for the greatest political impact have some explaining to do as well. If you know a young person has been taken advantage of and don't take your evidence to the authorities you are responsible for endangering that child. On the other hand if these IM's were between Foley and an 18 year old, they're both consenting adults and whether or not we all think it's repulsive it isn't anyone's business outside of the 2 people involved and their families.
