I don't really give a rat's tail about the perp; like I said, he needed to die. But I was responding to the guy who said this was dangerous overkill, and I agree with him. Maybe it was the STUPID statement the cop made that "if we had more bullets we'd have shot him more", (paraphrase). You can't blame them for wanting the guy dead, but he was dead long before the last 60+ bullets ripped through his body, and statements like the one the cop made reveal a dangerous mentality.
Please explain "dangerous overkill". How was it 'dangerous and how was it 'overkill'?
As I stated EACH cop has to make the decision to shoot or not, they don't have telepathic capabilities or time to discuss among themselves.
In this situation it is quite normal to shoot until empty.
