They're doing it wrong. They should be using a fire hose.

The prison is now a museum that documents Khymer Rouge atrocities. We don't commit atrocities, Corn, you traitorous scumbag.

Bottom line: Not only do waterboarding and the other types of torture currently being debated put us in company with the most vile regimes of the past half-century; they're also designed specifically to generate a (usually false) confession, not to obtain genuinely actionable intel. Bottom line: Not only do newpapers, television and the other types of mass communications currently being inflicted on the public put us in company with the most vile regimes of the past half-century; they're also designed specifically to generate a (usually false) impression, not to diseminate genuinely intelligent, factual information.

I think David Corn should demonstrate it for us. He probably doesn't care that our military Pilots go through the same thing. What would a wuss like David know about that?!

These techniques were designed to elicit CONFESSIONS. That's what the Khymer Rouge et al were after with their waterboarding, not truthful information. How can these idiots be so disconnected - and right. . . the more 'false' info they get. . .the better!
The rationale here is no different than their twisted logic that has them concluding that America on the 'offense' of WOT has created more terrorists. . .
(Imagine. . .If only we would make it easier; so they would have to use less manpower. . - and of course, we have a Dimwit Party that is willing to do just that). . ).
Nacny Pelosi denying the insult of their Party being 'soft' on terrorism; when just prior; she offered her spiritual resolve re WOT. . .'we should treat our enemies. . .as we would have then treat us'. . .
ANY Dems that should read ANY of the above. . . PLEASE take note. . .re your VOTE

No prisoner of American forces ever has to undergo waterboarding, or any other interrogation technique. All they have to do is give us the information we request. If they do this, no discomfort will come to them.

I would rather be waterboarded than face a west coast libs idea of a good time: a high colonic. (Just don't ask me weight or age questions.)

I saw a video clip on Videosift.com of a Robin Williams film where they supposedly showed waterboarding. They placed him on a board that seesawed into a bath tub. Do you suppose that the film version is incorrect? It sure made it look a lot worse than these pictures. Either way I'm not against it.

So the professor states that waterboarding is the "most viciously effective" form of torture, but doesn't physically injure or kill.
Hmmm. Terrorists use beheadings and other forms of torture on their captives.
Can I stomach "viciously effective" means to stop them? I don't think I'll lose any sleep over it.

The question for me is why David Corn has so much empathy for terrorists. I guess he identifies with anyone who opposes the U.S. government, and the people in the World Trade Center and Pentagon were just collateral damage to him.
What a creep. I feel sorry for his mother.

I love this idiotic liberal line. It is as if they are claiming that information gotten by "nicer, gentler" means is, somehow usually "not false". The libs also seem to have difficulty understanding the concept of "information verification" and the detainee's knowledge of the pain they will undergo if their information does turn out to be false.
Just as when liberals use idiotic draft army arguments (a la Viet Nam) to make points about a professional army, they seem to confuse intentions to extract nothing more than confessions, for some sort of conviction, with intentions to extract true information. Just more of the typical liberal idiocy and confusion.
We are not looking for confessions out of detainees, but information.
not to obtain genuinely actionable intel.
That's just stupid.
This isn't a matter of sacrificing moral values to keep us safe; it's sacrificing moral values for no purpose whatsoever.
Of course, to the pea-brain of a liberal, there are problems understanding the reasons behind most actions. hell, liberals don't really understand why we jail people or use the death penalty.

I am treating Mr. Ditter with a liquid antibiotic and the process looks very much like waterboarding. He lays on the bed with his head over the edge and I fill each nostril with the liquid. I need one of those tables, he would be more comfortable I think.

>>>According to the sources, CIA officers who subjected themselves to the water boarding technique lasted an average of 14 seconds before caving in. They said al Qaeda's toughest prisoner, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, won the admiration of interrogators when he was able to last between two and two-and-a-half minutes before begging to confess.... <<<
