Red, white, and blue alert to anyone in the Lakewood-Tacoma, WA area!

This is part of the urgent request for a soldier in need RIGHT NOW. I'm withholding the personal info for obvious reasons. Please let me know (asap would be good) if you can help.

My Friends,

Please forgive this broad-based e-mail (most addressees are in the Blind section); however, this is a very urgent problem, which happened on a Friday night, when most resources are unavailable.

Last Saturday, I picked up a soldier at SeaTac and took him to a motel in Federal Way. An agency (USA Cares) out of Kentucky, had paid for a motel room for this guy and they had to rent a car. Although his home is in Fairbanks, AK, his ex-wife and children are here, in the Tacoma area. His ex- attempted suicide last week, forcing him to come home from Iraq on emergency leave, to take custody of his children. After being forced to wait for a court hearing today (his ex- didn't have an attorney), the judge has today given him temporary custody of the two children; however, they have to stay here -- and go to school -- until October 26th, when the next hearing will be held -- after the ex- gets out of the hospital.

Their motel room is paid only through tomorrow and they have to turn the rental car back in -- and, of course, the family is out of resources! This nightmare has been forced upon them by a woman who tries to get attention through crazy stunts like this, and this soldier (on his second tour in Iraq) is just trying to maintain his sanity, right now. His wife has to fly home tomorrow to return to work, or lose her job.

Since we won't be able to get anyone from National until Monday, I am hoping one or several of you can point me in the direction of some assistance for this family. As the wife stated, even a cheaper room rate would help.

OSOT.org is working this. (the foundress is a friend of mine...she adopted me). Updates are: the rental car is paid for a month and the motel is paid thru Monday. If any of you are in the Tacoma area and can help, please freepmail me. We WILL get this soldier and his kids taken care of. I am looking for apts. now with month to month leases.

Lori
