As disgusting as these e-mails and (especially) IMs are, doesn't it depend on how old the teenagers were?

In a political/moral/ethical sense, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. His political career is OVER, and he's political poison to any other pol who tries to defend him.

In the IM's the "page" reminds him of his age...and that he doesn't want to do anything illegal...that he won't be 18 for awhile.
The IM's are over the top..and more than anything ..INCREDIBLY STUPID. How in the WORLD did he not think he'd get caught..sooner or later..
