The only way for Foley to have survived this would have been to switch parties. Looks like he'd rather resign than become a democrat. I give him credit for that.

Looks like he'd rather resign than become a democrat. If he had been a democrat, barney frank would have been on the airways by now, saying there is a "whiff of fascism in the air" like he did during the 2000 election in Palm Beach county.
