Jimmy Carter: 'Rumsfeld One of the Worst'
Newsmax ^ | September 28, 2006 | unk

Posted on 09/28/2006 8:49:11 AM PDT by OldCorps

Former President Jimmy Carter said Wednesday major policy changes are needed because the Iraq war has divided the nation "almost as much as Vietnam."

"So there's no doubt that our country is in much more danger now from terrorism than it would have been if we would have done what we should have done and stayed in Afghanistan," he said on the campaign trail with his son, Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jack Carter.

The former president said the Bush administration made a "terrible mistake" by invading Iraq and diverting troops from Afghanistan.

Jack Carter criticized his opponent, Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., for supporting the Iraq war. Both Carters also said Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld should go.

"I think he's one of the worst secretaries of defense we've ever had," the former president said of Rumsfeld. "Almost every decision he has made has aggravated his military subordinates and has also proved to be a mistake."

Seems Jimmy has a lot in common with some folks around here.

The U.S.S. Jimmy Carter, as specified by Jimmy and his daughter Amy,
carries no tactical nuclear weapons. The missile system carried is the new
Paci-Fist missile guaranteed to pack a punch to those with peanut allergies
resulting in possibly wiping one percent of enemy combatants with anaphylaxis.
The peace-not-warhead delivers delivers weapons grade peanut butter (P-232).

Question: Need we ask why SecDef Donald Rumsfeld didn't think of this?

I hope I live long enough to read the books the people of this administration put out after they are done. Especially someone like Tony Snow, who knows how to write.

Part of God's plan. Must be some kind of plan.

As far as I'm concerned, this is an endorsement. An affirmation.

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? (Not to disparage Rummy, but for Jeemah Cawter to call anyone "the Worst"?)

When I was a kid I'd read about the antics of Ramsey Clark, former US Attorney General for LBJ, and wonder how such an un-American could have been appointed to cabinet-level office. Then came Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. I long for the days when Ramsey Clark was the sole member of the freakshow.

Listen to Carter! He sure did a heck of job in Iran - the world has suffered enormously since his mission in the desert

Further proof that life isn't fair:

A great man like Ronald Reagan is silenced for years
by Alzheimer's, and now forever by his death....how we
could use his sage wisdom now.

And yet, a pathetic loser like Jimmy Carter just goes
on and on with his endless stream of anti-American bullcrap. His lack of support for the Shah of Iran
helped pave the way for the modern era of Islamofascism.
His giveaway of the Panama Canal, now controlled by the Chinese, was beyond belief. Thank God this fool never had a second term as president....we're all still paying the price for this idiot's first term.

Hey, Jimmy, it must really suck going through life constantly wrong, decade after decade! Go back to swinging your hammer, Jimbo.

You know as much as I despise Jimmy Carter, as much as I pray to live long enough to p*ss on his grave, I think perhaps we need to cut him a little slack, after all - don't you think Carter must be bitter after not having received a paycheck since 1991 when the Soviet Union went belly up?

Hell, he was probably one of the best bargains the KGB ever had working for them!

Carter is a traitor and one day the depth of his treason will become public knowledge, probably long after we're all gone but our commentaries will survive, while he'll be rotting in the ground being eaten by worms.

Contact me by Freepmail if you would like to adopt one of those unlucky worms, I'm leaving a crate of Zantac to them in my will.

"major policy changes are needed because the Iraq war has divided the nation"

So when the nation does nothing about Iraq for 12 years and 17 resolutions later it's united but when a President finally does what should have been done it's divided? What a freakin upside down world.

"It takes one to know one."

In the pot/kettle game, Jimmy has become King Pot.

President Tom preparing for the Twelfth Imam in Iran is Jimmy's true legacy, just as al-Quida is Bill Clinton's true legacy.

I suppose the Godfather of the North Korean Atomic Bomb, with a very long history of slavish submissiveness to 3 world thugs and dictators, would find Rummy the "Worst ever" considering his rabid loyalty to the Democrat Party's dogma of Preemptive Surrender.

They might write some very candid books but will they get the same celebrity exposure, Today show interviews, etc as all the liars who write books trashing Bush and co.? I suspect not.

I must admit a certain level of anger in my soul when I contemplate this fact.

Good morning.
"I'm having a problem deciding whether Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton is more disgusting."

To me, bill clinton is the most disgusting ex-prez but Jimmah Cahtuh did far more long term damage by facilitating the fall of the Shah and allowing the Soviets to think they could safely invade Afghanistan.
