If I didn't know better, I'd think the Virginia Senate election was the only thing on the ballot this year. What's the deal with everyone's obsessing over this one particular seat?

George Allen may well be our next president. That affects EVERYONE.

Allen ( whom I am a fan of) is the only 2008 contender in a race this year. It's both state and national, and intraparty.

The liberal internet's effect on the race is preponderant and very interesting. They are driving coverage. It's the first chance to see the media treat the likes of Kos and DU etc. as equals.

Remember how much we wanted the media to listen to our wildest and craziest ideas on FR in the old days?
Well the internet left has been granted that power. where the media suppressed us, they are trumpeting and joining in the internet Left's ideas. To the further loss of their credibility IMHO, but the results aren't in yet.

(I coined the word "blogosmear" for waht they are doing- but it hasn't caught on- darn it.
I mean how many chances am I going to get to originate a neat "catchphrase" like that. It rhymes, scans...)
