The "two daddies" remark was about as snide as it gets. Then you went on in further posts to make snide comments of the origins of those who say "you guys". You continue to turn up your superior nose at the name chosen for the foundation. You should apply for a job with Bill Clinton since you seem to enjoy rewriting history and making excuses.

I'm more than certain this will illicit yet another twisted, vehement denial. It will not be dignified with a response.

You're the one reading something snide and twisted into what was an innocent question. If the message was to her parents and they were both guys, then the message made sense to me.

I asked first! It was NOT something "snide." It was a legitimate question. How was I to know if I didn't ask? I couldn't imagine calling someone's mother a "guy." In point of fact, none of the stories yet have mentioned her mother, only her father and brother. The message was from one person, her father.

Here's my post from last night (this morning) on the other thread:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1710745/posts?page=51#51

I have been sifting through more docs today, trying to piece some of this together.

I've just about decided that the brother-in-law of Duane Morrison has to be the man who is his partner in the haunted house business, or whose partner Duane is, I should say. I imagine it is the other man who bankrolls everything.

I just can't confirm that the wife is Morrison's sister, but her husband has also been in business with another of Duane Morrison's brothers in the Denver area, so I feel like she probably is. That also means the assault rifle belonged to him.

His name is Dale A. Ervin, Sr. He used to own a string of Amoco gas stations in Denver and was fairly prominent, at least was president of their statewide dealer association. Then he sued Amoco for trying to drive independent dealers out of business and won a settlement - but didn't get it until much later. That was all in 1990-1996/1997.

It went to the CO Supreme Court and the rulings in the appeals (Amoco Oil v. Ervin) were precedent setting in the standards of business practice and fair dealings.

He sold his last station back to the company in 1997. Either he or his son, Dale Jr., have several other businesses.

Let's see - Charlie Brennan's story said that Morrison's sister lives in Franktown, which is where Ervin lives, although I have also found an address for them in nearby Castle Rock, too. And, I found a TV report that said Morrison was in business with his "brother" in the haunted house business.

The only two (actually 3) people's names in the corporate records are Duane R. Morrison and Dale A. Ervin, both Sr. and Jr. That would indicate that Ervin is a "brother" but must be the brother-in-law married to the sister who lives in Franktown.

The "suicide letter" was mailed to Duane's brother Gary, who lives in Aurora, the news story said, although I have him owning a home in Centennial with his wife. Anyway, Gary is another brother who has been in business with Ervin in the past, thru about 1994, in what appeared to be the gas stations. There was also a construction business I found papers for, but the name is unknown.

Duane's father Bob (Bobby L.) Morrison in Tulsa did some interviews that I can't view on my puter and haven't found transcripts for, but some reports said that he said Duane is one of 5 siblings. I count Bobby Lee, the oldest; then Gary J.; then Duane; then the sister, who I believe to probably be Judy Renee Ervin; then Michael L., the youngest of them. All are in the Denver area and the father said they were raised there.

If I think of anything else, I will add it.

I don't know if you want to start a new thread or just add on to this one, but they're calling it an, "Assault Rifle."

Assault rifle belonged to Morrison

Are they saying that this killer had access to a full auto weapon?

I'm not replying to LibertyRocks, I just don't know how to reply to the right post (new to this forum). I was searching the web today for news and blogs regarding the Platte Canyon shooting and found myself here, reading this thread.

The kindness and heartfelt words of everyone (most) are deeply appreciated.

That said - I was completely dismayed at the continual threads about Emily saying "you guys" to her parents. The entire idea of calling her words "sloppy" was shocking and disturbing.

First, she was saying I love you guys to her entire family, friends, everyone. She was in a room with a gunman and was replying to a text message someone had sent for her father. Who bleeping cares about her vocabulary????

Emily was a beautiful, funny, life-loving member of our community who will be dearly missed.

I only ask that each of you criticizing her last words do one thing....practice an act of kindness today. Don't do it in Emily's name, just do it....

It is what she would have done.
