Good Morning, and you're very welcome. Thanks for adding me to your list. (o:

That poster last night just hit a button with me I suppose. I'm glad the mods took down his posts and banned him (he signed up yesterday). I guess I still feel like Colorado is my "home" even though we haven't been there in two years. Maybe it's also because my husband's friend lives in Bailey and has kids in that school as well. It all hit so close to home for me. I feel so badly for the whole community, but most especially Emily's family and Sheriff Wegener. This morning on GMA he said he met with her family yesterday and they expressed a lot of appreciation to him. You could tell he was so touched by that. He said it did him a lot of good to meet with them.

God bless our men, and women in blue indeed - thank the Lord there are people willing to put their lives on the line for others as they do everyday.

Guess U haven't gotten to my longer rant further down from that one.

"You guys" just always sounds like "Youse guys" to me, a la James Cagney or Robert DeNiro or the Sopranos or the other person whose name I won't type twice in the same morning - mainly that one - and several HS, Univ, and work acquaintances I've known.

You know, even with a suicide note, none of this makes sense, does it?

OK, got it on FOX now. Oops, now it's over. They will repeat it at noon here.

Was it the brother-in-law, do you know? I don't know his name, but it's not Morrison, obviously.

No, it doesn't make sense. Puzzling is that list of students he reportedly had.

They didn't give any details about the note and went on into talking about their "training" (which would have been interesting) but then FOX left the presser.

They only said it was a relative.

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/9960859/detail.html

BAILEY, Colo. -- Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener said the gunman who took hostages at Platte Canyon High School left a suicide note.

"It was sent to a family member. We are still analyzing the note," said Wegener.

Wegener also said one of the weapons that Duane Morrison used was traced back to a relative of the gunman.

He made the comments at a Friday morning news conference in Bailey.

One of six hostages taken by Duane R. Morrison at Platte Canyon High School on Wednesday said the gunman seemed to single out Emily Keyes -- the girl he eventually killed -- and appeared to know her father.

That report was published Friday in the Rocky Mountain News.

The hostage, who said she was groped above the waist by Morrison, told the newspaper that Morrison molested other girls in the room as well.

The girl told the newspaper that she could hear the SWAT team outside the classroom and thought about action movies she had seen in the past.

"I imagined that a group of SWAT team guys would bust through the windows. Or that I could fight off the gunman with a kick in the groin," she said. "But that just happens in the movies. I guess it doesn't quite work that way in real life."

Another of the hostages during Wednesday's ordeal told her family the gunman stormed into class, threw his backpack on a desk, then lined up students and dismissed them one by one -- boys first and heavier girls. Eventually, he told the girls who were left to use their cell phones to call their parents.

"That's how my mom got the call," the 13-year-old sister of the hostage told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. Her mother said the family did not want to be identified because it might further traumatize the former hostage.

"She was crying," the girl said of her 15-year-old sister. "My mom couldn't really hear her."

Student Chelsea Wilson said she was in same English class when Chapman came in and told the students to line up facing the chalkboard.

"All the hairs on my body stood up," Chelsea said. "I guess I was somewhat praying it was a drill."

One by one, the gunman started letting students go, and Chelsea, a tall brunette, said she was the first girl to leave. Her mother, Julia Wilson, said she thinks the gunman made all the blond, smaller girls stay.

Chelsea said she heard what might have been a gunshot after she left the classroom.

"He's a pervert," Chelsea said. "I'm not sure of motivation. I just knew it wasn't good."

On Friday, Wegener said all of the girls held hostage were molested "in one form or another."

Another student reported that Chapman was sitting in the parking lot of the school on Wednesday morning and was asking about students Authorities were investigating that account, but did confirm that surveillance tapes show the gunman was in the parking lot for about 35 minutes before he entered the school and took hostages.

Investigation Into Morrison

Authorities found a makeshift campground along the South Platte River about a mile east of the school. They found trash and what was described as an assault rifle. They said there was nothing to connect the campsite to Morrison, however.

Investigators are comparing tire tracks in the area to the tires on Morrison's Jeep.

Wed. I was catching grief for not "heroing" enough:') Give the kid a break. He didn't have to fess up. I wouldn't have put my son back in front of the cameras either.

"I Love U Guys"

Probably just cultural. Around here "guys" can be male or female, just depending on the context.

He didn't get away with it, that's all that matters to me. Forgotten now.

Found out that the family member who got the suicide note is in CO - so it wasn't his parents in OK. It sounds like it's the same family member (still guessing BIL) who was the registered owner of one of Morrison's two guns.

" ... Sheriff Fred Wegener announced Friday morning that Morrison had sent a suicide note to a relative in Colorado. He did not reveal the contents of that note, pending its analysis, but did say investigators discovered the note's existence after one of Morrison's weapons was traced to a family member. ..."

I'm working on that now. They've both lived in Aurora in the past, so it may be from there. I don't think I know what her father does for a living - have you heard anything about that?

On a sad note - next Wednesday is the Keyes' 20th wedding anniversary (assuming they are still married now).
