From a theistic point of view - God made both the left (logical, scientific) and right (intuitive, holistic) hemisphere of the brain. Every person has a natural bent to one or the other, but we are, in my opinion, committing a sin if we do not try to cultivate and use both. Jesus said we are to worship Him in spirit ("art") and truth ("science"). Any person who has ever learned to play a musical instrument knows that there is, coexisting at the same time, mathematics AND intuitive beauty/creativity .
The most successful in ANY field of life, know that there is "art" and "science" in each discipline. (I have found the "art" in computer science; the proverbial "ghost in the machine"). The most successful learn to master the science, and let the art master them.

Very well said. We all use the tools of art in our lives, in some way or another. Imagination, intuition, non-literal ways of looking at things.
It's a shame when someone doesn't see the art all around them.
