It's more like a smear orchestrated by Donald Graham, the guy who owns the Post. He is known to have a problem with Christians who have Jewish forebears.

That's presumed to be the reason. Donald is like Adolph Eichmann ~ if there had been no Jews he supposes he would not be mistaken for one. Ergo, his crusade against others of his type.
Now I know that sounds like a real psychological stretch, but remember that his father commited suicide in 1963.
So did Kerry's grandfather.
The guy really shouldn't be allowed near a newspaper.
