A QUESTION For Everybody...

If Bill really did order BL's assassination, wasn't he in violation of the prohibition against direct assassination enected by Ford and Carter, and upheld by Reagan????

Doesn't it apply EXCEPT in a time of war??
I don't remember Billy declaring War, do you???

Interview Quote"I authorized the CIA to get groups together to try to kill him."

http://www.cnn.com/2002/LAW/11/04/us.assassination.policy/

CNN-Novenber 4,2002...
In a section of the order labeled "Restrictions on Intelligence Activities," Ford outlawed political assassination: Section 5(g), entitled "Prohibition on Assassination," states: "No employee of the United States Government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, political assassination."

Since 1976, every U.S. president has upheld Ford's prohibition on assassinations. In 1978 President Carter issued an executive order with the chief purpose of reshaping the intelligence structure. In Section 2-305 of that order, Carter reaffirmed the U.S. prohibition on assassination.

In 1981, President Reagan, through Executive Order 12333, reiterated the assassination prohibition. Reagan was the last president to address the topic of political assassination. Because no subsequent executive order or piece of legislation has repealed the prohibition, it remains in effect.

I was wondering the same thing when I saw a clip of him saying he 'contracted' to have Bin Laden killed.

I heard that on the clip also and was surprised as I thought that was a No-NO.

Clinton did himself no favor with this interview even if it was a calculated act as some are speculating - his people are now saying this was a set-up. lol

A President could issue a new, secret Executive Order saying it's okay to assassinate.

The assassination ban was about heads of state, not terrorists.

Wait a minute, I'm confused--was he referring to OBL, or Vince Foster?!?

I picked up on the same violation of the no assassination rule violation. Why didn't Wallace hit him with that? Bubba got riled when Wallace called him on his lying about nobody ever hearing about UBL until 9/11. When he realized he was finally being called to task, although mildly, he went ballastic. After all, he is the mighty Bubba, owner of Willard and married to Hillary. ---or is it the other way around?

Nope. What a President puts in place another Presidential finding can over rule.

Well he also said he CONTRACTED people to kill Bin Laden.... a hired gun?????? Geezus! That is DEFINITELY against the law. So - he openly admitted to Chris Wallace on national TV that he broke the law!

IIRC that order applies to leaders of countries, and heads of state, and was specifically designed to prevent "backdoor nation building".
UBL is not a head of a state.
He's a thug, just like klintoon.
