George Allen and Jim Webb had another debate yesterday. Probably to the relief of many of you, I did not get to see it. But from the clip I did see, and the clip that everyone will see, Allen walked away from this fray the big winner. After running a sub-par campaign and his dreadful appearance on Sundays Meet the Press, Allen caught a huge break, a break that will likely turn the momentum of the race in his direction.
One of the panelists, a woman named Peggy Fox, asked Allen, It has been reported your grandfather Felix, whom you were given your middle name for, was Jewish. Could you please tell us whether your forebears include Jews and, if so, at which point Jewish identity might have ended?
The crowd booed, and rightly so. Allen responded with angry indignation, again rightly so. And, I must say, he looked good doing so. The problem with a politician as programmed as George Allen is he often appears phony. This question showed the real man, and it was the best Ive seen him look during the campaign.

I'm sure the DBM is equally outraged. /s
I only caught parts of the DBM last night... was there any mention of this odious affront?
That's a lot of graph paper.
... and it's 1944.
When I read the title, I figured this discussion would be about the scenes from Band of Brothers whre they enter a concentration camp.
Second, I have seen a lot of comments in which posters seem troubled that Allen saw a question about being Jewish as an "aspersion." Posters questioned why being Jewish would be seen as an aspersion. The video makes clear that Peggy Fox was trying to tie George Allen's possibly Jewish mother to the "macaca" comment. Fox was exploring ties between George Allen's mother and her ethnic/religious heritage and racism. I think the "aspersion" was not that his mother or grandfather was Jewish, but that they were racist. This interpretation makes sense also when coupled with Senator Allen's defense of his mother, including his comments about her family's treatment by the Nazis.
If anyone else has not seen the video, I'd urge them to go the website and view it. In this case, the written materials and comments (of which I had read many) really don't capture what occurred.
How chilling.
"Peggy must think she's in Germany ... and it's 1944."
Actually, that would be 1933, the year Goebbell's instituted the Anti-Jewish Boycott.

My Question:
When do Dems intend to implement the Nuremberg Race Laws??
Dems/Libs become more like Nazi's every day now...
ACTUNG JUDEN!
SEIG HEIL!
ABORTION UBER ALLES!!!
I recall when Madeleine Albright discovered that she had Jewish ancestors and the drive by media practically deified her.
Now, in the case of Allen, the drive by media wants to tar him with his Jewish roots.
Another double standard...
Nah more like 1932 when they still had elections.
I believe this is a quote from Abraham Lincoln: "I do not know who my grandfather was. I am much more concerned about who his grandson will be."
Peggy Fox --- liberal woman, the most dangerous Americans in our country. I hope someday we can change their cold hearts.
Just like with black Republicans.
Ping!
The NUREMBURG RACE LAWS-
The Nuremberg Laws, as they became known, did not define a "Jew" as someone with particular religious beliefs.
Instead, anyone who had three or four Jewish grandparents was defined as a Jew, regardless of whether that individual identified himself or herself as a Jew or belonged to the Jewish religious community.
How the Nazi's defined "Jewish Ancestry"....
http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/nurem-laws.htm
Many Germans who had not practiced Judaism for years found themselves caught in the grip of Nazi terror.
Even people with Jewish grandparents who had converted to Christianity were defined as Jews.
The scary part is that our Liberals/Democrats become more Nazi-like with each passing day....
