In the days when Texas governors had two year terms, Preston Smith and Dolph Briscoe won reelection.

Actually, Briscoe was first elected to a 2-year term in 1972 and then re-elected in 1974 as the first 4-year term Texas Governor.

I wish we would go back to a 2 year governor election cycle.
