Steve Irwin's Memorial Service to Air on Animal Planet
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, FROM 9-10 P.M. ET/PT. Get a reminder!
(Silver Spring , MD) Animal Planet is airing Steve Irwin's memorial service exclusively in the U.S., commercial-free, on Tuesday, September 19, from 9-10 p.m. ET/PT, with an encore broadcast airing 12-1 a.m. ET/PT. The memorial service, entitled Steve Irwin: He Changed Our World, will be a same-day broadcast (with a two-hour delay) of the event Wednesday morning in Australia.
The public memorial service for the beloved animal conservationist and television personality is being held in the "Crocoseum," a 5,500-seat stadium at Irwin's Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Australia. Members of the Irwin Family, as well as Irwin's long-time friend and producer, John Stainton, are expected to speak. Celebrities and dignitaries worldwide are expected to attend.
No disrespectful posts, please.
I wonder if this will be shown online anywhere?
Thanks for posting. I heard about the service but didn't know the specifics.
Let's continue to keep his family in our prayers.
Thanks for the heads up. I will get my box of Kleenex ready.
I haven't seen anything as of yet about it being online. I'm going to try and tape it, but I haven't used the vcr in a long time.
My family won't forget him. Thanks for the thread.
I think I'll have a beer tonight - so long mate!
Goodbye Mate. My kids and I will miss you.
I would love for everyone to post their favorite photos of Steve and his family. The above image I posted is available as wallpaper here:

My VCR's already set.
One of the most heart warming moments of my life was after I had freed a baby bird that had been tangled in a string in it's own nest after all the others had left.
My then-6-year-old daughter watched from several feet away as I climbed a ladder and snipped the string away while the bird pecked and scratched at my hand. The little bird took off in awkward spiral and landed on a roof across the street. She just stood there beaming and finally declared with great pride, "you're just like Steve Irwin, Daddy!"
I'll remember that moment as long as I live, and probably tell that story at her wedding.

Awwwww, what an awesome memory to have.
May God bless his wife and their babies!
Lord, only You can comfort the hearts of the loved ones.
Surround them with tender, loving people.
Thank You, Father for his life.
I'll check back in later. We don't have cable, so we may have to put in a "Best of the Crocodile Hunter" video later. Our family will really miss Steve, although not nearly as much as his family will!
Not many men his age achieve leaving such a legacy. True, he was called Home too soon.... but we are fortunate that he touched so many while he was here.
May he rest and peace and prayers for his family and friends.
"TT", Beth & Nana
Thank you for the reminder! I thought I'd forgotten about this last night.
It is about to start here in Australia - preliminary coverage has already begun. I'm recording and will capture images when complete.
