Protests target Hungary state TV

Protesters have tried to storm Hungary's state TV station after Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany admitted that his party had lied to win an election. Police used teargas to disperse the demonstrators in the capital Budapest.

Mr Gyurcsany's admission came after Hungarian radio played a tape of a meeting he had with his Socialist MPs a few weeks after the election in April.

Thousands gathered outside parliament on Sunday calling for Mr Gyurcsany to resign, but he has refused.

Not good for them. This particular memorial is dedicated to fallen soldiers of Hungary, not a memorial to the Socialist state.

I'm sure there will be a huge confrontation about this (in Europe).

Along the lines of...maybe my socialist government is lying to me, too?

I just want to be around long enough to see the entire face of the UN change...no more marxists, no more despots, no more dictators!

Einstein recommended long ago that all member nations should be democratic. He was right.

The only way for Einstein's proposal to have worked would have been for the US to produce many more nuclear warheads than the two dropped on Japan and rub out Stalin's regime. The question then would have been, would the scientists who built the first two have complied?
