Back when I was in the Corps I wondered how all those fat Chiefs were allowed to stay in. What the younger enlisted navy guys told me was the Chiefs only had to have a physical exam once every couple of years or so. Apparently they'd bust their tails to get just under the mark then go back to being a fatman.
Is their anything worse than having to eat a cherry from a fat Chiefs belly button?

You are right about that. Warfare pins are now required to promoted to CPO. I knew plenty of fleeters that came to the Seabee battalions just to get the SCWS pin. Not exactly your typical sea duty.
