"McCain himself admits, in his autobiography, that torture worked when he was tortured. Now, of course, he says that torture doesn't work."

MORE:
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain:
"McCain signed an anti-American propaganda message which was written in Vietnamese, but did so only as a result of torture (to this day, he cannot raise his arms above his head, due to his two broken shoulders from the severe beatings administered by the North Vietnamese)."

Due to an editing error, wikipedia.org failed to make clear that his arms hurt only when he has to vote for measures favorable to Republicans.

I think the shoulders got messed up by them tying McCain's hands behind him and then hoisting him from his wrists. Sounds painful. However, other accounts from his fellow Hanoi Hilton borders would say he got favored treatment due to his pappy and grandpappy being Admirals, and Johnny being cooperative.

His injuries were from his plane crash, if I am not mistaken.

Further he was whining after 9/11 that security checked his golf bag. So how does he manage to play golf.
