I wonder if Levin will also leave and go with Hannity?
They're bailing out of WLS in Chicago too (Steve Scott and Cisco Cotto). I must say that over the years I've found ABC Radio News to be the closest thing to propaganda in terms of political news. Citadel should purge that unit entirely and start from scratch.
Did I read that right? Hannity to leave talk radio?! Wahooo! (I know, he isn't, but I can dream, can't I?) I used to love listening to him, but that ended a couple years ago. Anyway, I really wish Laura Ingraham would move into his spot right behind Rush.
That may be due in part to the fact that not all stations carry Hannity live, in favor of established local content that people know and like. WLS in Chicago is but one example.
Frankly, Hannity's radio show was getting a little stale, anyway. I look forward to seeing who Promise-Keeper-Program-Director Phil Boyce finds for the evening drive time on WABC. I would love to hear Hugh Hewitt in New York.
Quite frankly, the reason i don't listen much
more than i do, is because i can't stand the
5 minures of commecials tp 1 minute of show
ratio, that both Limbaugh and Hannity have.
Geez...It's no wonder Hannity is begging for
"only 3 hrs"...I mean...that's 20 minutes of
him "working", and 2 hrs and 20 minutes of
ad gravy...
John Batchelor has also just left ABC. He was on late (9pm-1am) so many of you may not know of him but he was by far the most interesting and informed (non-political) show on any tv or radio. He's due back somewhere, sometime later this year.( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Batchelor)
That may explain some of the changes I've noticed of late on WABC in NYC -- Bob Brinker was replaced last Sunday by some other financial program (the "I'm debt free" guy) and Laura Ingram has not been in her usual time slot.
Air America??(sarcasm, and yet...) 8^)
"You're a Great American" line was fine when used in a tongue and cheek way by Bill Cunningham @ WLW. Hannity's consistent exchanges with nearly every caller ("awww shucks. No. You're a great American" - please insert the voice of Wally Cleaver) has to be the most cornball Howdy Doody-ish radio on the dial.
I'd rather exercise my mind a bit and just listen to Rush. ;)
I think I heard Mr. Hannity has written a book.
Yeah, right! We are just full of and fed up with conservative talk radio!
Keep on drinkin' the kool-aid, Socialists!
Although I think Hannity is doing a valuable service-- I see him more as the conservative Oprah-- I can't listen to his show. He is a better path for a liberal to start on the path to conservative thought than most of the other national talk show hosts, but I just don't find him that compelling for three hours a day...
Hey! Sean can add a whole new chapter to his next book! Did you know Sean has a book?
Bob should never ever have been fired. He has been blacklisted by ABC and his departure was a great loss to the communities who loved the man.
"And right out of the gate, we have an earthquake"
Uh..I haven't felt it yet. When Hannity understands that "great Americans" are fighting and dying for their country and not manning microphones, his ratings will go up. That's why I prefer the psychotic meanderings of Savage. He tries to minimize gratuitous flattery from his callers, but not Hannity, nor Rush. They're addicted to it.
It is curious that this is an issue coming to light just as the news of Err America's continuing and deepening fiscal issues is also surfacing.
I like Sean, but he does tend to be too reptative....however he is good during elections cycles in comparing and contrasting conservative vs. liberal positions on important issues. He does need to freshen his show up a little or something to make it more interesting during non-election time frames. He was at his best when he started out with his show....he needs to recapture that energy.
