Jack Bauer Insurance (CIA Afraid of Democrat Revenge?)

What would Jack Bauer do? If he worked at the CIA in real life today, the anti-terror hero of Fox's "24" would apparently be buying insurance in case the ACLU or John Kerry decided to sue or subpoena him for protecting America with too much vigor. ...more CIA counterterrorism officers are signing up for private insurance that would pay for civil judgments and legal costs if they are sued or charged with a crime.... "'There are a lot of people who think that subpoenas could be coming' from Congress after the November elections or from federal prosecutors if Democrats capture the White House in 2008," wrote the Post, quoting a retired intelligence officer close to the CIA's Directorate of Operations, which conducted the interrogations. Though the government pays the premiums for this kind of insurance, it is a sorry spectacle that these agents must now fear partisan retribution....

Do the Democrats really want a defeat bad enough in Iraq to punish those who brought it to a successful conclusion?
Answer: This is not paranoia. We reported yesterday how Carl Levin, the Michigan Democrat, is blocking Bush nominees simply for having been mentioned in passing in emails about Guantanamo. Some of us also remember the infamous Frank Church hearings of the 1970s that pilloried the CIA and weakened it for decades.

Jack Bauer would just shoot anyone who tried to sue him.

People like Levin would be dragging Freepers in for questioning if they could.
We already understand the nature of the enemy. I doubt insurance is going to help.

they can't be charged with a crime by congress - it would have to come from a DOJ investigation, and that would only come if a Dem president wins in 2008.
this should instantly be made into a campaign issue against the Dems.

If the country puts the wicked back in power, hopefully there will be just enough tragedy to drive them out forever, and not the end of America as a free nation.
We saw the last few days what they really think of free speech aka "The path to 9/11". But make a film showing President Bush getting murdered, and not a peep. Off the scale hypocrisy again.

Carl Levin is an unrepentant Marxist. And Marxists and their Socialist catamites have come full circle, joining the Islamists in the battle against the United States.

Jack Bauer would just shoot anyone who tried to sue him.And that, my friend, is what we are eventually going to have to do with the ACLU and any other terrorist enablers.
The fifth column in this country is too big and too brazen to effectively fight a war. Since they are on the side of the enemy, they might be given a reasonable time limit to leave and join the enemy.
Any treasonous activites after that time limit should be dealt with according to the laws against treason, up to and including the order of the hempen necktie.

Jack Bauer would just shoot anyone who tried to sue him. Chuck Norris sometimes can't sleep well at night because he's afraid he might have offended Jack Bauer.

There's a very strong tendency to cover your ass these days. It's only going to get worse. Anything that smacks of a witch hunt after the elections will cripple the confidence and effectiveness of our intellegence community. They won't so much as sign a timesheet without running it past a lawyer first. Which is great, if you're a lawyer or a terrorist, but bad if you're trying to fight a war.
