Bush's fault - if only Bush hadn't invade Iraq, we could've had 10,000 troops guarding this embassy!

I suspect a staged propaganda stunt here. Sort of like the Nazis shooting Concentration camp inmates and dressing them up in Polish uniforms prior to starting WW2.

Just more disinformation for the Surrender Now Democrat Party to seize upon as "proof" of Syria's good intentions while Syria continues to be a State Sponsor of Terrorism.

That was my first thought this morning too, but I don't think it's necessary to think that. It could be true. But I also believe that Syria, just like most Muslim countries, have their own problem with rogue, extremist elements to whom they do not want give any control.

You might be thinking too much.

Some islamic nuts wanted to seize the US Embassy and the Syrian security forces, out of their own sense of survival - not love, decided that they need to prevent that from happening.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I sorry simple English comprehension is beyond your limited intellectual abilities. I surprise you actually manage to turn on your computer each day. I suspect someone must do that for you.

I am 100% sure that this whole event was staged by Syria so they tell the world “see, we are suffering from terrorism and we are fighting it as well”. I am disappointed that some US officials thanked Syria for stopping an attack they planned and executed. For how long are we going to believe this Syrian old game of them creating the beast and telling us what do you pay me to kill the beast? Enough is enough with the Baath terrorist regime in Damascus.

It's still around $2.80 here in SoCal....meanwhile HiTech and commerce moves forward:

IBM Makes First Cell Computer Generally Available
Cell-Based BladeCenter System Poised to Boost Performance for New Applications in Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Medical Industries

************************AN EXCERPT **********************************

ARMONK, NY, Sep 12, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- IBM today announced that it is making its first computing system based on the Cell Broadband Engine (Cell BE) generally available on a global basis, with early adopters such as University of Manchester, RapidMind, Inc. and Fraunhofer Institute deploying compute-intensive applications on early ship versions.
The IBM BladeCenter QS20 is a Cell BE-based blade system designed for businesses that can benefit from high performance computing power and the unique capabilities of the Cell BE processor to run graphic-intensive applications. The IBM BladeCenter QS20 will expand the use of Cell into industries such as medical imaging, aerospace, defense, digital animation, communications and oil and gas -- with the ability to dramatically transform those industries.
Based on the Power Architecture, the Cell BE was originally developed by IBM, Sony and Toshiba for use in gaming consoles. Cell BE's breakthrough multi-core architecture and ultra high-speed communications capabilities deliver vastly improved, real-time response effectively delivering 'supercomputer-like performance' by incorporating IBM's advanced multi-processing technologies usually reserved for the company's most sophisticated servers.
Beta versions of the IBM BladeCenter QS20 are already in use at customer sites across the U.S., as well as in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Japan and Korea.

No one can fart in Syria if not allowed by the Syrian Baath terrorist regime. For terrorists to mount such an attack without the knowledge and approval of the Syrian intelligence is not possible.
