I really cant believe it. Why would the Toronto Film Festival honor the Dixie Chicks and their horrible movie? There will be a big screening of the movie and a press conference.
For Canadians, the day after 9/11, to honor anti-American singers is unbelievable to me.
Even worse than that is that the same guys who put out Michael Moores garbage are putting this one out, right before the election.
We NEED to take a stand against this horrible movie. I am embarrassed that they are American.

Good for you. I'm a lot more embarrassed that they come from my dear TX than the fact that W is from TX!

The only place the Dixie Sluts can get attention is in Canada or Europe. Their anti-American trash isn't playing well at home, despite the push that left wing MTV and VH1 gave them. Their concert tour was a disappointment - couldn't give tickets away in a lot of places. And Natalie is still fat and ugly.

With millions of dollars at stake in music sales and corporate sponsorships, band members Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire uphold their artistry and politics against pressures to just "shut up and sing." Oh, boo friggin' hoo. The suffering artist routine is very old.
And, if you really want to spout off beliefs that are overwhelminghly unpopular, then you have asked for the results.
What a bunch of nit-wits...and their music sucks too.

I'm ashamed to say that Natalie Maines is from Texas.
Swine Maines' ideology is more in tune with Vermont, Khaliforniastan, or France.

At this point the Dicksee Chicks will do anything for publicity.
I'm sure they will even make a movie with the Michael Moore crowd.
Oh theyre there already.
Never mind....
To: HatingToronto
Oh just ignore them, pretty soon they will crucify themselves. Unless Madonna has the copyright on that. Truly, they are no longer relevant.

Canada is the ultimate blue state, at the same time as this movie is being released in Toronto so is the one based on the supposed shooting of the President. I saw some poll data this morning indicating that only 29% of Canadians think the war in Afghanistan could still be justified by the events of 9/11 (71% disagreed).
Canadian conservatives are essentially liberal in their outlook, especially as it relates to social, income or health programs. The fact that large numbers of Canadians are not respectful or insensitive to significant issues for American conservatives should not be surprising.

Why take a stand against the movie? There's an old saying, that seems to apply here, about giving someone enough rope.

This film will send fans into ecstasy and turn you into a convert if you've never heard the music before. Why? Did the Dixie Chicks hire somebody GOOD to do the soundtrack?
