Shanksville is not too far northwest of me and I was outside with my dad while he finished siding my house that day.
I could swear a military type plane went zooming west around that time but I have no idea if it was connected to Flight 93.
A lot of military planes go over here because we're under their approach path to the Martinsburg WV armory.
At 500+ mph and just a few minutes later, it could have crashed a lot closer to me than it did.
[we're in a direct line from there to DC]
It's a chilling thought.
For months before 9/11, I was having nightmares about a plane crashing in my dad's deer pasture, which never made any sense.
The whole morning of 9/11 had a weird, surrealistic feel to it.
It was too beautiful outside, the sun was too bright but the birds were all silent.
Very odd.
A lot of people had dreams repeatedly for up to a month before... a lot of people couldn't sleep and didn't know why.
You are correct, it was a surreal sky and the birds were silent... time truly froze.
