I would like to tell Germaine 'You get what you ask for, you silly old woman!' She spent her whole life putting down the meaning of family. She was one of the instigators of the 'battle between the sexes' - and now she's alone and has no family.
No amount of publicity nor money nor literary awards are comfort in a lonely old age.
