Actually, I believe the benefits islam derives in liberal America are not unique but are afforded to all "minority" (read:"guest") religions. Public recognition of minority religions (along with suppression of the majority religion) is how liberals "treat all religions equally." Until recently it was Judaism that benefited the most from this policy (which, as a Noachide, embarrasses me no end). But this of course doesn't mean the moslems couldn't be playing the liberals like a violin.
