Iraqi defense minister thanks Poland

06.09.2006

Iraqi defense minister has thanked Poland for its participation in the stabilization mission of the US-led international force in Iraq and for humanitarian aid. Speaking at a press conference in Warsaw Abdel Qader Muhammad Yassem said Poles helped the Iraqi people to regain freedom. He compared the fight of the Iraqi nation with violence and terrorism to the struggle of the Polish nation against Nazism.

Polish defense minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that a few years ago the Polish army had to learn NATO standards, today it is teaching other countries’s troops. Asked about possible prolongation of Polish soldiers’ mission in Iraq, minister Sikorski said Poland may pull out in the second half of 2007 but no concrete decisions have been taken yet.

And do you really guys think, that this forum is the perfect place for the Poles to discuss whether the influential, Catholic radio-station in Poland is antisemitic or not - in front of all the FReepers?

I have my own view on this issue, could provide some links, but I don't think this would be wise.

There would be to "winner" in this discussion.

Poland's good name would loose definitely.

We don't live in communist regime where accusation is enough to destroy a man.

Tell it to that poor homeless guy that is being searched by police from the whole country :)

He accuses a man of hatred to Jews and then tells him to prove his innocence, which is outrageous. That was in the Soviet Union.

There are hundreds of examples in the internet - videos, audio records, etc. - speeches of Radio Maryja listeneres. Speeches of listeners but not his speeches, you will say - OK, but minds of those people are shaped by his radio station.
