>> To Noonan, her opponents had a "bizarre passion" for death, were "unstable," "unhinged," and "red-fanged and ravenous." She warned that they were paving "the low road that twists past Columbine and leads toward Auschwitz."
I love that woman. Peggy, if I single, I'd be at your front door with an armful of roses.

Telling my whole life with his words,

We should develop our own lexicon, vocabulary of the death lovers and what the words mean or hide.

I lived in Connecticut until I was eleven and we always took field trips to the museum at Yale. Back in the mid 70's they were obsessed with a tribe from the Philippines called the "Tasaday," there were all sorts of documentaries done and we went to see all of these exhibit about this totally isolated tribe that had been "lost" and lived a Stone Age existence. The US government and places like "National Geographic" gave hundreds of millions to do all sorts of research on them and to "preserve" their way of life.
After Ferdinand Marcos was removed from power it came out that the Tasaday was a complete hoax that was devised by Marcos to get money. I remember thinking how funny it is that these leftists can be duped into believing just about anything.

No need to confess your shady past. You're among friends here.

One must do what one can. Imelda Marcos had extremely expensive tastes in shoes.

I suspect much came from darling bride, Imelda, and maybe Juan Ponce Enrile. They were real good at hoaxes, I recall. When we lived there, I would comment on Imelda's defense of a Woman's Right to Shoes.
Not much respect for that babe.
I still have a bow from Hutu headhunter types. I was looking at the arrowheads, yesterday, two kinds, one for little birds, one for people size. Lethal little thingies. They were certainly not lost, but we were, in the barrios and had no interest meeting them or the NPA who were all around us. No mooslims in those days, not around our area in Luzon.
Mooslims were in Mindinau where the Tasaday were supposed to be. Knew people from that island but never went there, not likely to go there, either. May return one day to Ilocos, though to visit friends.

I heard tell not so long ago that she still hangs out now and then in the Pen in Manila. A great place for afternoon tea, but you have to wear shoes in the foyer. The government stole Imelda's whole collection (bureaucrats are SO insensitive), so I don't know what she wears now.

Run this by again??
>> The political football of 2005 came in March, with Congress taking the unprecedented step of asking a federal court to ignore previous court rulings in the case of Terri Schiavo and side with parents to keep her on life support. Wu joined the majority in opposing the bill.
That's not what the bill said, but in any case, it passed decisively. If Wu opposed it, he was decidedly in the minority. One presumes he just loves to torture disabled women to death.
