For some reason people equate "russian" with "soviet"*, or russian speaking.

Kind of like MiG is a russian plane, its really not by your definition. :)

Until 1991 MIG was soviet plane but today it is russian plane:). SO all the models of MIG after 1991 are russian.

Those people mentioned in article are no russian but former soviets. Or yourslelf can suddenly become a "russian" can't you?:)
