Stop there twice...1960 going to Guam in a old Consellation and on the way back in 1961 going to Hawaii in a DC-7.

Our family stopped there en route to Japan in 1959 and we flew in on a Constellation. I remember the beached WWII ships on the island's periphery. When we were landing I thought we were crashing because I didn't see a bit of land for a landing site. On the return we stopped at Midway.
