The Navy site linked above says 135knots. Thats about 155mph. The weather channel info says 150 mph as well.

The second article quotes winds of 300 KPH, and so the 220 MPH just might be right.That may be GIGO. If someone got handed 220 mph instead of 220 kph, then converted to kph from that, it could compound the error.
