Some of the most dedicated communists have had Jewish backgrounds.

Even Karl Marx had some Jewish ethnicity, but Rosa Luxemburg led the pack that prompted the NAZI German anti-semitic backlash, the Spartakusbund.

I suspect some of the most dedicated communists also had Christian backgrounds.

As a percentage and from what I can tell, Jews are over-represented among prominent communists, just as they are among Nobel laureates. Look at the ACLU.

Point is, they abjure religion when they embrace communism. Any pretense that they are still believers is just purposeful deception.

Agreed. I try to make certain that there is a distinction between ethnicity and religion when I write on the topic. Still, it's laying out my neck when it comes to charges of anti-semitism, however bogus.

I've emailed the article to a bunch of relatives and friends who are Democrats. Democrats who have bemoaned the hijacking of their party by the extreme Left but who just can't bring themselves to vote Republican.

Great interview - and "Shadow Party" sounds like an enormously important book that needs to be read by everyone in the country.
