...usually when the drive-by media is obviously dancing around a racial or sexual issue, it's because it involves a racial or sexual minority or, as in this case, a deviant sexual criminal...of course when the sexually deviant behavior involved the Catholic Church, the MSM had no problem "outting" all the priests involved - in that case their hatred of the Church far outweighed their desire to protect gays - in the case of this story, it was easy to try to suppress the gay dimension, since the indivudual being protected was very probably one of their own, a left wing academic type......

Excellent points all, but according to my recollection, the coverage of the Catholic pedophilia scandals involved some dancing as well...I recall the offenders being referred to almost universally as merely 'pedophiles' and the fact that the victims being almost (?) exclusively BOYS was almost never mentioned. They tried their darnedest to immolate the church while downplaying the homosexual aspect of it all as best they could.
