Did anyone ever pull the covers on this guy's phony tale? I remember he was telling about how his mother drowned when he could not have possibly known that. Then we heard no more from him. I surmised it was because his story was mostly horseflop.

Don't you all remember that one?

Remember: no food or water in the superdome, and then we saw the ground littered with empty boxes that had held MREs.

One woman evacuated to Baltimore was interviewed about her ordeal, and after the reporter wrote that "they had nothing to eat or drink", the woman answered the question about discomfort due to heat, by saying that she and her friends poured bottled water over their heads to cool off.

So "nothing to eat" meant McDonald's was not serving.
"Nothing to drink" meant no chilled soda pop available.

It is a disgrace how inept America's reporters really are.

I'll NEVER forget how mad I was at Whoraldo's producer, after WHorealdo saved that poor stranded lady and her poodle, only to have his producer (whatever) drag that poor little dog on film.

I remember watching it. This guy was walking with the poodle on a leash, taking it to safety.

Then I noticed the poodle trying to stop, and being dragged. Then the poor little thing started losing its footing while being dragged.

Then the poor thing just flipped over and that danged guy was DRAGGING it and didn't even know it.

Several freepers saw it and complained, I sent Fox an email about it, as did many others.

They pulled that footage REAL quick.

How many freepers on here remember that one?

Gosh - I don't remember the scene, but it's the kind of reporter whoring and sensationalism we saw a lot of...

Field Reporter: Tom, I'm currently ten miles outside of Beaverton, unable to get inside the town proper. We do not have any reports of fatalities yet, but we believe that the death toll may be in the hundreds of millions. Beaverton has only a population of about eight thousand, Tom, so this would be quite devastating.
Tom: Any word on how the survivors in the town are doing, Mitch?
Mitch: W-we're not sure what exactly is going on inside the town of Beaverton, uh Tom, but we're reporting that there's looting, raping, and yes, even acts of cannibalism.
Tom: My God, you've, you've actually seen people looting, raping and eating each other?
Mitch: No, no, we haven't actually seen it Tom, we're just reporting it.

Courtesy of South Park :~)

Amen. I too went to journalism school. And I was taught to INVESTIGATE and validate. And always be on the lookout for someone trying to use you for their agenda.

I am appalled at what I see today that passes for journalism. There are no such things anymore as investigative reporters, hard nosed editors to make sure everything is correct, and unbiased reports that offer BOTH sides to every story.

I remember some Florida professor said that there were absolutely no fewer than 10,000 dead and possibly as many as 40,000. I suspected these figures almost immediately, else, why would the MSM keep showing us the same footage of stiffs on a bridge? Even Scarborough began touting these figures and grandstanding like Ray Nothin' and the rest of the Pimpocrats, which caused me to immediately lose respect for him. I haven't watched his show since. Hurricane Katrina is just another illustration of why the MSM is not to be trusted, since it is the propaganda arm of the the Pimpocrats and victims de jure not just here in the States, but all over the world. Pick any story having the MSM's annointed victims on one side and MSM enemies on the other (i.e., Christians, Conservatives, Israel, the police, etc.) and watch how they spin the story. (MSM enemies and those of the Pimpocrats always seem to coincide). You will be able to predict the MSM's spin on it almost 100% of the time.

Great interview. Could the media have been any more irresponsible in its Katrina coverage?

Well, if you hear rumors of cannibalism, is it okay to at least microwave stuff?
I'm not sure of the etiquette.

<< Just ask any Houstonian how crime went up when they got 100k refugees.>>

Yeah, like Houston was such a crime free city, pre-Katrina. Hello! Houston has been crime-ridden for at least 40 years now.

All CNN had to do to get the real story was to interview people who were actually there in the dome:

"Are we to believe that no crime occured at the Superdome?"

Sure. Crime took a holiday, don't you know. It also took a trip, to Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Shreveport, Memphis, Houston, and even to some small towns where good folks gave them shelter until they destroyed their homes.

I remember the Mayor complaining that you couldn't use the school buses because they had no bathrooms.

Hey, hold it for an hour and they find some bushes. That philosphy would have saved many.

LOL! That's a big 'OOOOPS! Kind of hard to handle the rowboat, as she says, especially when the bottom is scraping the road. Yeah, that's a winner!
