Ok... I was talking about what pundits and semi-neutral sources have predicted, NOT the Carvilles et al. I laughed when Terry McAuliffe said he was taking out Jeb Bush and his little boy got spanked bad on election day.
A complicating factor is that the Democrats were like 5 seats away from taking over the House in 2002, so predicting a Democrat takeover knowing the historical record on mid-term elections was not a dramatic prediction. People kept calling it the "Seinfeld election", the election about nothing, and since the polling see-sawed and showed incumbents strong they didn't know what to make of it. And then redistricting and security-minded voters voted Republican all over the country, and it was a good night.
bump for later........
Things would have to break almost perfectly for the Dems for the GOP to lose that many seats.
The race was about where I expected when the Hitler ad killed Jerry's chances.
Ok, I think we agree on far more than we disagree on, if anything.
Well, Bush did some things right. There were other things that he tried to do right and was prevented from doing them by the Congress. But there was one thing that he could have done and should have done. He should not have allowed the humongous influx of illegal aliens during a time of war. He cant blame his failure to do this on anyone else. He simply refused to secure the borders or to take action against companies that violated the law and hired these illegals. While I dont think that this constitutes an impeachable offense, I sure wouldnt mind the Dims getting control of the House for the next two years. Not the Senate, just the House. The Dims will find some reason to impeach Bush and maybe future Republican presidents will think twice about giving the middle finger to the base even when they wont be running again.
The only consolation I take from your post is that you're likely not intelligent enough to find your voting location in November.
A paleoconservative, I was voting the straight Republican ticket before many of you were born but I believe they're gonna get their clocks cleaned come November. And as far as this fiscal conservative is concerned, they'll deserve it.
You've made a total of 8 posts since joining FR. Seven of them are almost carbon copies of this, your latest post.
Do you have anything else to contribute to this forum besides posts bashing Republicans?
That's what they said last time and the time before.
Yep, and Dick Morris too. Methinks they will keep their track record intact.
And, in the fwiw department, I and the First lady will crawl over broken glass, during a hurricane to vote this November.

Ssssshhh!! We're supposed to fall for their crap.
Heh! I guess I'm feeling a little cranky this evening. I'm sick up to here with seminar posters.
Hours on end at our state fair today didn't help either. I like crowds about as much as I like the above named species. :>)
Hopefully this will be as accurate as his prediction that Jim Bunning would lose his 2004 re-election bid for U.S. Senate after he had been declared the winner with the most votes and had given his victory speech and his opponent had conceeded.
The bottom line is this: If the dems had strong candidates who were not so far on the fringes, and had jettisoned people like Pelosi from the mainstream...I would be more worried. But when it comes to the lesser of two evils, better the evil you know in these perilous times than the evil that is completely unhinged.
I think that many politicians are misreading the tea leaves. They don't want us to be softer, they want us to speed it up.
Here is a guy whose majority career was spent on CNN!
An anti-american network. Pals with everyone.
And he is supposed to have credibility? Never with me.
I am glad you said "new direction" mantra. It seems every Rat on TV talks about the GOP going in the wrong direction but the Rats never explain what direction they would go in, read: socialism, higher taxes, run from the terrorists etc. I don't think the American people want to move in that direction. It is amazing to me why the Rats are never asked to explain in whatdirection they want to go.
We were supposed to lose in 2002 as I recall. Novak: BIOYAC!
Even post-Katrina, unless the GOP can settle on one VERY charismatic candidate, that one is still a very longshot. The RATS should hold it, even if Jefferson is indicted(which I expect to happen shortly after the election).
As for the rest of Novak's predictions, I think he's been to one too many parties on the DC Cocktail Circuit. Like LS, I think the GOP will pick up seats in the House and at least hold their ground in the Senate(Santorum's recent gains along with Stabenow and Cantwell's slide in the polls leave me thinking they could pick up at least one seat).
