Once, just once, I'd like to see a GOP politician show some b@lls and stand up to this crowd, call them on their hypocrisy, not let themselves get whipsawed into stuttering apologies, and get right in their faces.

Allen should never have apologized. He should have just laughed it off and called them all useless "macacas" and let them just fume and rage about it.

This made him look very weak. Not good. You can't genuflect to your political enemies just because they get tough. You need to get tougher and meaner. Frankly, I'm looking around for somebody else to support now. Allen isn't hacking it.

Hmmm ~ just reading this story in the Jewish Daily Forward that discusses George Allen's quite broad "roots" ~ he even claims to be 1/16 Spanish ~ about like Teddy Roosevelt so he wouldn't be the "first" Hispanic President.

Still, I wonder how much of this attack on George arises out of the anti-semitism that's overtaken the entire Democratic party in the last couple of years.

Maybe you could illuminate us.
