shower pictures - from an excited freeper saying they just got out of the shower on a breaking news thread about a possible terror event (it was determined the event was not terror related).

I think the shower reference is to a thread where a woman was close to some breaking news (either physically or near someone important to her), nobody was sure what was going on, and while all the excitement was still happening and nothing resolved she announced she was going to go take a shower. Hence, the showers show up as something is about to happen.

That is correct. It was not long after 9/11, and we were all a little tense. I believe the poster's husband was in the danger zone, and she up and decided to take a shower rather than wait for additional news. We were all shocked by her glibness.

There was something going on at LAX and she said she thought her boyfriend was there but she had to take a shower.

Late to reply, but the "Oh, my husband could be in danger, but let me know, as I am getting in the shower" was one for the ages.

Still amazed at that one, and I have always wondered if she signed back up under a different screen name. LOL...
