No, I'm not in TN. I used to hear him a lot on Imus who gave him a lot of air time to talk. He really sounds quite reasonable. But you are correct. His family--father and uncle I believe--have serious ethical problems. But I don't think any of it has touched Harold Ford--at least that I know of.

His family name touches him more than you would think. My wife, who is a traditional southern democrat, wont vote for him because "his family is crooked". Additionally, a lot of Democrats wont vote for him because he is black. The local dem party moved into the office next to mine recently. Since then, several of my customers have told me that they are democrats, but they wont vote for him because they dont want a black senator.

I just wish the Republicans were as good as he is at making people believe that he is on their sides on the issues (gas prices, illegal immigration, etc..)
