I've read that the Japanese stole the defense plans for Corregidor in 1911 when Black Jack Pershing was out there working for Arthur MacArthur. 1911.

The idea has been around even longer than that. There was a novel written in the late 19th or early twentieth century that centered around a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan. I wish I could think of the author so I could google it up. I remember reading about it American Heritage magazine years and years ago.
