Darwinism was a powerful influence on Nazi thinking

totally wrong. if you believe you are the master race, there is no need for war. You let nature take its course and you will win.

any link to nazis is a bastardized interpretation of evolution.

As evolution is a bastardized interpretation of science.

And along similar lines, since communists believed that the proletarian revolution was inevitable, they had no reason to force the issue. After all, had they truly believed Marx's theory, they would've just sat back and let history unfold. So the communists didn't really believe in Marx.

Have I got your reasoning about right?

But of course that wasn't the case, because that's not how totalitarians do things. They tend to get in a hurry (as the other poster suggested). In fact, their willingness to force things into place is probably a direct result of believing that the inevitable laws of nature or history are on their side.

So, if anything, the fact that the Nazis didn't just "let nature take its course" actually suggests the opposite of what you're contending. I.e., just as the communists's willingness to help the revolution along showed their faith in Marx, so the Nazis' willingness to help the process of natural selection along showed their faith in evolution.

Only people who believe every single human being is the descendant of an original human couple can be a racist. Everyone knows that! Evolution rightly interpreted actually supports Randianism . . . no, wait, it supports Marxism . . . no, wait, capitalism . . . no, wait, Communism . . .

So what objective moral standard does it teach again?

if you believe you are the master race, there is no need for war. You let nature take its course and you will win.

First of all, if evolution is true, then war is perfectly natural. What else could it be.

Second, how would you know, unless you're the master race; and how would you determine the master race, if not by physical components...since, of course, all that exists, are just physical processes.

Not that I'm making any causal connection, mind you, between Hitler and Darwin, but it's easy to see how one could get an immediate sense of compatibility betweeen the two, especially since both essentially posit a heirarchy to the human species.
