Merriam Webster's On Line Dictionary defines fraud as "1 a : DECEIT, TRICKERY; specifically : intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right." How does failure to include quotation marks represent fraud by this definition? Please explain or hold your peace.

More specifically, placing a word in quotes implies the word is being used ironically. Saying Hitler was a "good Christian" is not the same as saying Hitler was a good Christian.
Removing the quotes changes the intention of the sentence.
