This is NOT a 'evangelical nutcase' idea. Darwin's ideas are responsible for Hitler is philosophically and historically consistent.

Darwin's own book title shows that without Darwin there would have never been a Hitler.

The full title to Darwin's book was:

On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Origin_of_Species

Without the philisophical ideas that man is nothing more than an intellectual animal, he is not distinst from animals in any way, AND man is so intelligent and evolved so that he should direct his future evolution Hitler would have never happened in history as we know it.

These ideas stand in antithesis to the philisophical ideas that man is created, man is created special, unique from animals, in the image of God, and the purpose in life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

It is kind of sad when so-called conservatives parade naked in public and display their shortcomings.

The term "races" in Darwin's title refers to varieties -- a generic term applicable to all living things.

Natural selection is Darwin's discovery. Selective breeding was discovered thousands of years ago. Genocide is at least as old as Joshua.

My point is that if science was the motivation behind Hitler's genocide, he would have preserved and protected the best and brightest of German citizens rather than killing them.

I disagree. IMO it's a stretch to find any coherency in Hitler's policies, except for the Fuehrer Principle and the pro-Aryan anti-Jewish anti-Slavic, etc, racism/nationalism.

A total opportunist. A chameleon. He was a Catholic when he talked to the clergy, a Pagan with Himmler, an artist with Speer, a militarist when he talked to the Junkers, a peace-lover once he had gotten his way, a friend of capitalism when he cadged money from the industrialists, a poor workingman when he addressed the masses, etc [cf 1 Corinthians 9:20-22]

Someone rising to power by denouncng the Versailles Treaty, exploiting the Depression, and scapegoating the Jews for betraying the Fatherland, corrupting society, spreading syphilis, etc, hardly needed any help from Darwin.

Keep in mind that A.H. learned his Anti-Semitism in extremely Catholic Vienna; at the time he was interested in art and politics - there is no evidence he knew any biology, or any science, at all. When he was in more-Lutheran Germany, he took Luther's advice

In On the Jews and Their Lies, written in 1543 three years before his death, Luther recommends that Jews be deprived of money, civil rights, religious teaching, and education, and that they be forced to labor on the land, or else be expelled from Germany and possibly killed.
You don't fnid that kind of crap in Darwin.
