Last year I attended a play here in politically correct San Francisco. During the scenes that called for the characters to smoke, the actors
pretended they were smoking. They didn't even use unlighted cigarettes. Just went through the motions.
It was the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time.
Oh, come on. A friend with freakin' asthma uses an unlit (real) cigarette as a prop for a costume on a regular basis. Walking around. And these guys don't even have the guts to use a fake?
Wonder what woulda happened if the scenes called for smoking pot or doing lines.
