When the school was under attack, however, and SWAT teams were clearing the rooms and hallways, the officers had to physically peel those clinging, sobbing kids off of them. This is how the little lambs feel about their sheepdog when the wolf is at the door.

I wish this were true.

Not all those dressed as sheepdogs are sheepdogs. Some are sheep in disguise. Like the guys in their cool black paramilitary uniforms who hung around outside the school for hours instead of making the decision to go in. At least one teacher bled to death because of their indecision.

And some are wolves in disguise. New Orleans' Finest looting the WalMart and forcibly taking little old ladies' pistols that their late husband left them come to mind.

It's better to be your own sheepdog, even if an unpaid part-time sheepdog. That's what the Unorganized Militia is supposed to be. . . . i.e. Flight 93.
