Actually, lots of educated Ford-bashing going on here. Take a look at Consumer Reports regarding Ford's quality. They're Hell to live with.

The Fusion is a nice car - except for the fact that it's underpowered (the consensus of the magazines) but why didn't Ford get the engine power right from the beginning in an all new model.

In the past, Consumers Reports have rated all domestic cars as terrible. They use one vehicle to test drive and the rest is rated by consumers. Who only report the bad things. Consumers Reports and J. P. Powers are worthless in picking the best or worst products.

No, make that UN-educated. Consumer Reports rates most Ford models as above average. Yet they don't have the sample sizes needed to determine the difference between average and much better than average. How else do you explain IDENTICAL models (Escape and Mariner) getting different ratings? They also let their readers decide what a "serious" problem is. What's up with that? I've seen people complain about brake pads needing replacement after 85k miles as if their car was falling apart. The problems with consumer reports are too numerous to count. Try using data from mechanics, such as that available at msnautos.com or partsamerica.com to see frequency of problems and cost to repair. Look at truedelta.com for a complete list of CR's problems.

Its funny how CR doesn't even ding the Accord and Civic for their HORRID automatic transmissions in recent years.

As for the Fusion, it does 0-60 in 9.36 with a 4 cylinder and 7.47 seconds with the V6. How fast do you really need to get to the mall?
