Reports from Seoul Korea, (daily newspaper Joongang Ilbo in Seoul) via the Japanese Jiji press agency, that South Korean intelligence has intercepted radio messages/communications in North Korea, which were aired last month, to civilians in the Kilju County, Northern Hamgyeong Province area of northeastern D.P.R.K., to evacuate.
The source in the South Korean government said "our interpretation is that following North Korea's underground nuclear blast test, they wish to head off any escape of radiation that would be a threat to the nearby civilian population and are evacuating as such."
I haven't heard any new news about Iran or N.Korea today. But everything I already knew about the Ramsey story was repeated again, and again, and again. sick, isn't it?
I was just thinking that if this thread's title, and information, is true, it reflects a very disturbing lack of interest. This thread was posted yesterday and it has only had a little over 500 replies. You'd think we'd have to be fighting to get the next word in, but alas, it's been very quiet.
I would do the same, if I were Murdock.
After they get them back, the worm will turn.
Perhaps you meant to highlight the last part of my prior comment. LOL Anyhow, I do believe that most journalists have a passion for what they do, and I respect that. The ones who travel to war-torn countries or put themselves in harms way anywhere, are brave, IMO. I don't like the biased reporting that some of them do, but hey, I don't like alot of things in life. LOL
Steve Centanni is a good guy. He and his cameraman do not deserve what has happened to them, no one does.
Was the cavity dug vertically like that for the test, or was it filled in and the bomb mostly blasted upward?
I do not fault Fox one little bit for how they are handling the kidnapping of their two journalists. They are doing what they need to do, and I think they've been handling an extremely horrifying situation in the best way possible.
My complaint to Fox is not at all related to that. It's about allowing the JonBenet story to take over their programming when there are so many urgent and important events happening as we speak. I don't mind hearing about the Ramsey story, but I don't need it to be dripping on my forehead like a primitive water torture either.
Signing off now. Enjoy your evening. chena
This is pretty weird....I wonder if they were taken to give them a story that the Pali's want to be told.
Either that, or it is a ransom thing...
They (The Pali's)are seriously short of money and jobs right now. This rabble is capable of anything.
So I stick around here.....:-)
The bomb blasted upwards for that test. There are a lot reasons for that. Maybe soil composition of the blast site and the yield of the blast. There was an underground test in Nevada where the blast caused the entire surface to fault.Literally the entire surface cracked and uprooted paved roads. In the Cannican blast, it caused the entire island to be raised several feet and cased a 5.0 magnitude earthquake. Usually in most blasts, the explosion causes a molten sphere to form.
With nuclear tests all sorts of weird things to happen. When the U.S. first tested the Hydrogen bomb in 1953, the blast had a yield of 10 megatons. The blast completely vaporised the test island and cause a 30 foot deep underwater crated.
Ironically, the test was named "Faultless". It was a ~1 megaton test to see if the site could handle the 5mt. test of the Spartan ABM warhead.
Since the site could not, the test was moved to Amchitka. This of course is the test known as Cannikin.
The earthquake that resulted from the Cannikin was a 6.0.
Thank you to for reminding me. I have to keep up with so much imformation on the Operations, shot names and yields.
I have footage of both Fautless and Cannikin
I have so many atomic bomb video clips (as well as VHS/DVDs) that I really need to one day organize them so I can know exactly what I've got.
I wish that the Russian government would release footage of their testing.
I like the video of China's first atomic bomb test.
What was funny about the Chinese test that the horses were had radiation "suits" complete with gas masks.
Yep, I remember laughing the first time I saw it.
Then they go riding right through ground zero.
Hey, the Chinese needed some guinea pigs. I would not run into a nuclear explosion. I bet most of the soldiers who did that are dead from radiation related diseases
IIRC, a few of the firemen who responded to the Chernobyl disaster survived a dose of radiation that should have been 100% fatal.
