Immigration officials have now picked up all but two of the eleven Egyptian exchange students who came to the U-S for a summer course in Montana but never showed up for classes.
U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents tracked three of the students to Des Moines, Iowa, where they were arrested yesterday. Others were picked up earlier in New Jersey, Maryland, Chicago and Minnesota.

I just read some mundane info on the 2 NJ guys. They said when they came out of the bathroom the rest of the group was gone. So they went to an old neighbor (from Egypts home) in NJ Sam Abolata instead who owns a restaurant, Mia Sorella's.

They were here for just a summer course, no less. Considering that the summer is almost over, you'd think they'd try to get to Montana on time!
As I understand it, these guys were nailed because schools are now required to report foreigners who are no-shows for the classes their visas were issued for. Remember how the academics, shortly after 9/11, were complaining and objecting to these new reporting requirements? As it is, we're still having to play "where's bin Laden" with these guys, but at least we KNOW they're missing and not just waiting until they crash a plane to realize that maybe their "student" status is bogus.

Probably only 2 of the 11 were terrorists, with the other 9 being camouflage to have us surmise that this group is okay.
That was just for their passport pictures. I bet they are really scowling for their mug shots.
The Federal guvment should skip the politically correct crap and start profiling as a means of screening people, including airline passengers.

I am feeling a little better after reading the article about the first two picked up. I found another article where they interviewed the family of one of the missing. That article said the 'students' paid over $4000 each for the trip and the class. The father of one of the 'students' indicated that he thought his son might stay and look for work and that it cost over $1000 in bribes to land a janitorial job in Egypt so the $4000 to have an opportunity to make it in the US did not seem out of line. Both the father and the sister said they knew if was wrong but that their son/brother was not looking to harm the United States. I am feeling better about this...but I still will be glad when they catch the last two.
