That is the problem. The U.S. wanted UN troops under Chapter 6 of the UN charter. I believe under Chapter 6, the UN troops are authorized to fire. But instead, the U.S. had to accept the regular UN troops without any arms. Somebody please correct me if that is wrong. I cannot believe that Israel accepted that deal.
