no, Olmert wanted this endgame all along.
To: Blackyce
Rice predicted that both governments would accept the agreement. That's nice. I'm sure Hezbollah will earnestly accept and abide by all conditions and restraints placed on them.

Israel was in a no win situation with its military. Destroying and occupying Lebanon should have never been an option. Her people were trying to oust Syria and embrace democracy.
I pray all these predictions for the end of the 'world' are true for August 22, then the Prince of Peace can resolve this mess.

As the president has pointed out, diplomacy can be a little bit messy and unpredictable." It isn't rocket science to figure what this agreement is worth and what is going to happen next.

I never thought I'd see the day when a bunch of ragtag Mickey the Mopes like the Hezbos would beat Israel.
Very sad.

Does anyone know what this means for the kidnapped soldiers? Does Israel get them back?

I have lost all confidence in GW Bush whom I have supported for years. He is as bad as any "Traitor/Treason" Democrat. This was the time to destroy Syria and Iran and we let it slip away. God have mercy on the horrors about to befall the USA and Israel. GW Bush has let the American people down.

Olmert shouldn't be thanking President Bush, he should be apologizing. Bush played interference as long as he could in order to allow Olmert time to get the job done but Olmert just stalled on using the forces needed and now the battle will have to be won on some other day but it won't be with Olmert.

Well it could be a set up for something big. I don't believe the huzzies will stop launching rockets and if this continues then adios Lebanon, Syria and Iran.
Perhaps a GOTCHA by the western world, at least I'm hoping that we are regrouping for a big surprise for the Islamic Fascist crowd. Bring 'Em On, and take no prisoners.

But Israel has been unable to defeat Hezbollah and was concerned about growing Israeli casualties, as well as international condemnation, if the war continued.Good to see Nedra perpetuating the falsehood that Israel has been unable to defeat the Hizbos.
Maybe Syria and Iran will do something really stupid.

And when it fails it will all be Pres. Bush fault. Not if WE remember that Olmert lacked the guts to finish what he started.
To: tobyhill
Bush and Condi are the same weaklings as the Democrat traitors!!! End of story!!!
To: Blackyce
Olmert endorsed a Mideast cease-fire plan that the United States and France proposed Friday at the United Nations. An echo from history...

Olmert needs to thank Bush fast, I have this feling he wont be around long. I sure hope Olmert's gone SOON!
And, I doubt the President patted Olmert on the back and thanked him for giving the terrorists their first victory in five years.
